Offering a rare 69 AMC Rebel SST
2 door. With Factory Console Shift, Power Steering, Tilt Steering Wheel, and it’s an original AC Car.
This car has under 100 miles on the mechanical restoration that has been done. It did not need any body restoration. It’s a very clean and solid car. Rear valance under bumper was the only thing replaced on the car. Car is 99% mechanically brand new. Here’s what’s been done. It’s now powered by a fresh mild built AMC 360 & fresh AMC 727. Has a New 650DP Holley Carb. New 2400 Stall Converter, New Torque Converter, 2.73 gears, New Cam, New Starter, New HEI Distributor, New Alternator, New Custom Drive Shaft, New Borla Hot Rod Kit, New Dual Borla Exhaust, & Borla Tips, New Modified 64 El Camino Gas Tank, New Gas Lines, New Sending Unit, New Shocks Front & Rear, New Drums, New Wheel Cylinders, New Brake Shoes & Lines, and Newly Remanufactured Brake Booster. New Upper & Lower control arm bushings front only. New door, and window seals. New door lock Switches, New Inside Door Handles, New windshield wipers, and blades. New Trunk Lock, New Locking Gas Cap, Newer interior as well. New Shift Cables, New Speedo Cable & Gear, New Wheels & Tires. New Heating/AC Relay, New Horn Relay. All new Heat & AC Cables (Not Installed). No AC Unit in car currently.
Included with sale is the Original 290 engine and BW trans. 2 Extra Rebel Gas Tanks, Set of New Old Stock Taillights, Set of New Old Stock Shocks, Brand New Service Manual & Electrical Manual. New Rambler Plate, New Stickers for breather, and “R” stickers for wheel center caps. other spare parts as well. Set of mew rear bushings.
Also kept all the old parts that were replaced when possible and they are also included. Also has an extra cam that came in this engine but was too much cam for car so I replaced it and that extra cam will also go with the vehicle. Will also include print outs of all receipts that I have for 98% of the parts installed. Will provide the buyer with all the contacts for parts that I have collected through many, many hours of research.
What the car still needs done... New windshield wiper transmission. AC Unit. Needs the thicker AMC headliner glued back up in the center where it came loose in the middle an easy fix for someone that knows how to do it. Shifter doesn’t line up perfect on the gear indicator but it works perfectly fine. Speedometer is off but not sure what’s causing it. Alternator light comes on and off from time to time but it’s a brand new alternator so shop saw no reason other than it’s a 1 wire alternator that’s different than the factory one and that might be causing it to come on and off for some reason but have had no noticeable issues with it and battery seems to stay charged no problem. Needs adjustment rollers replaced for passenger side window to get window adjusted and lined up with new seals, it goes up and down no problem but isn’t sealed as tight as it could be. Radio is factory but doesn’t work, and I haven’t looked into why. Hood hinges work good but can’t adjust the hood alignment without replacing the springs on the hinges the shop said. With all the extra parts that are included you could probably trade them out to have the few things done that are needed on this car to finish it off.
Has newer interior on most but front seats and door panels could at some point use recovering if you want it to be a show piece. Car has decent driver quality paint but there are a few chips on edge of hood and where they painted black over yellow. There are a few small chips where the black is on the car and I tried to take pictures to show them. There is one very tiny minor dent on passenger side trim and in fender but it’s so small it won’t show up in photos.
I have invested over K into this car total. Reserve is far below what I have invested. I simply am wanting to move on to other more important things with my business that I’m building and want to send this rare car to a new home who will finish it off the little that needs doing and enjoy it as I have very little time for it anymore. If you are looking for a rare car that very few are left in existence of that were highly optioned the way this classic is from the factory then look no further.
Who ever buys this car will be getting an awesome deal and could not build it for the reserve price on it. I recommend coming to view it and hear it in person or contact me for video of it running. I have transferrable Registration in my name.
Vermont doesn’t require title as active transferrable registration serves same purpose as a title under Vermont law with a Bill of Sale included.
I’m also willing to ship this car out of the country if buyer pays all fees, and handles all the paperwork. I will assist in whatever ways I can with coordinating with the buyers shipper.
I have disclosed everything about this car I can think of and it is sold as is where is and pick up or shipping of the vehicle is 100% the buyers responsibility.
