Vintage Chinese Hand Carved RED Sandstone Ink Well Brush Holder Floral Bird. This beautiful ink well / brush holder was hand carved in China from one solid piece of red sandstone. Many are made in sandstone but unusual is this red sandstone. Beautifully detailed bird reaching for flowers. It has 2 brush holders and the oval ink well to the right. Approx early 1900's. No clear way to date. Back is scribed China. Excellent condition. A deep redish brown with some areas of beige sandstone. Colors may vary from one electronic to another.
Measures 7 3/4in long by 5 1/2in high.  About 2 3/4in deep.
